said the grasshopper to a fairy ant
i got one wish i hope you can grant
i want to be as tall as that big oak tree
and make all the little children scared of me

He used to hide among the blades of grass growing in the ground
was sick of being small and green, and people knocking him around

the fairy ant made the wish come true
the grasshopper grew to 12 feet 2!
started beating his chest and gnashing his teeth
and made the earth rumble beneath his feet

he used to be a gentle creature, and barely made a sound
but now he's big like a brontosauris, and louder than loud!

there was one important thing that the grasshopper didn't consider
all his tiny friends who used to smile at him would now shiver

in fear of their lives, they would run and hide from him
and the bigger animals like deer, would ignore him

the grasshopper fell into a depression
but in the end he learned a great lesson
if you want to keep your friends you gotta be nice
and when you're given a gift, you better think twice

so he started to help the ladybugs and bees
by creating shelter from the strongest breeze
and protecting them from the bigger creatures
for a noble cause, he was using his features

soon he understood that being mean will cost you friends
and the greatest feeling comes from helping others in the end
